This lady was so much fun!  There’s also the fact that she works in the wedding industry as a florist…so she totally gets the chaos!

Brittany and Dee managed to make our day wonderful!  That’s how sweet and loving this couple is!  The weather was absolutely perfect.  Their love was almost tangible.  The fun was out of control!  Beautiful flowers from Gardenia Floral Designs were just the tip of the iceberg!  Dee, the groom, works in the forestry industry so there was everything from a HUGE wood guestbook to log benches for guests to sit on while they looked upon a four foot tall cascading alter of logs and candles surrounded by white flower petals.  Everything was amazing.  We love you guys!  Congrats!

 

 

One year, folks….One year.

It has been a year since that fateful one liner that was our first post.  I have had a blast.  My clients friends are amazing and we could not have been more blessed.

In just one year, we were…

designed,

announced,

and welcomed with open arms.

We had no idea what this journey would hold when we set out.  Our favorite part?  We have enjoyed working with so many people who…

giggle,

scowl,

and (honestly) don’t care that we’re there!

Whether it’s…

trucks,

pups,

or two kids in love…

…we are facing it head-on and loving it!

Thank you, everyone, for an amazing first year.  Let’s pray it is just one of many!

First, Happy 4th!

Second, in light of our recent decision, which happens to by my second resolution achievement (soon to be three resolution achievements), we are going to be doing a giveaway!  I really wrestled with how to set this up and what to give.  What I decided was just to do two (yes, two) giveaways.  I like to think of it as one for each resolution I have recently checked off.

We shared almost two months ago that we would have an article and accompanying photos published in September (√).  In the next three weeks, I will graduate from my MBA program (√) and then my “real-job” will be this (√)!  That only leaves one resolution….the foreign-country-wish-I-moonlighted-as-a-photo-journalist shoot.  I figure I still have a few months to get hubs to take me to Africa…right? 😉  But, I digress…Giveaway one: for all the soon-to-be-not-so-single ladies. 

Let’s be honest…this one requires a little work.  Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to tell us why you said “yes.”  Was it his smile, his willingness to go get a pedicure, or his willingness to pay for you to have a pedicure?  Did he drop the ring in the spaghetti plate?  Does he write you songs, paint you pictures or walk your tiny dog with no complaints?  Whatever it is…we want to know!  Email your entry to mariandavidphotography[at]gmail.com.  We will stop accepting entries Sunday, July 31st and will announce a winner by August 7th.  The lucky couple will receive a $500 discount from the wedding package of their choice and we will share their entry alongside their photos!Giveaway two: for families, mommies, soon-to-be-mommies, newborns, seniors, etc.

The only requirement for eligibility is that you must “like” us on FB.  When we hit 300 fans (which could be next week or next year, lol!) we will pick one fan to receive a free shoot at a location of your choosing!  For those of you who like to cheat a little there will be an opportunity for additional entries.  If you send someone and they leave your name on our wall…then you will get your name in the hat an extra time.  For example, Suzy Q likes us.  One entry for Suzy Q.  Joe Bob likes us and leaves Suzy Q’s name on our wall.  Suzy Q now has two entries and Joe Bob has one.  Easy peasey!  Will will announce this winner within 7 days of reaching 300 fans!

Rick and Gwynne – Destination Wedding

These two are uh-mazing….and I’m not just saying that because I got to take their pictures in Jamaica.  I’m saying that because they are kind hearted, fun, and ridiculously good looking (any Zoolander fans out there?).  Folks, meet Mr. & Mrs. Chase!

Talk about dream wedding!  Sunset “I do’s,” delicious dinner, and the best DJ around.  Couple all that with a beautiful Caribbean resort and you get a wedding fit for a princess….which was appropriate when you consider Gwynne’s beauty.  That being said…On to the pictures!

Manley Wedding – Part I.

These two are silly in love and put together an incredibly beautiful day!  I can’t say enough about their commitment to each other and their blended family.  Ron & Rita, we wish you the best and were beyond blessed to have shared this day with you guys.  Much love and happiness!

I am almost finished with post production on this wedding and can’t wait to share all the awesome images with them!  Some of you may, or may not, know that we will be off on a little adventure starting tomorrow but I am hoping to have this project done and uploaded in its entirety soon after we get back.  (Wednesday is currently looking like a good day.)  For now, I thought I would get everyone in a tizzy and post the seven days of Manley pictures we shared on Facebook.

The Woodard Wedding…finally!

I get it…I promise and I promise and I promise…..and you wait and you wait and you wait…

Well, the waiting is over!  The Woodards (who you should remember by now) tied the knot over  a month ago and I am finally getting these posts up!  You get one today and one tomorrow…but they are both gonna rock!  These guys got married at Mountain Lake Church, reception at a friends house and a whole lot of family!  They are gonna have a life full of love and laughter.  If they don’t…I’ll cut ’em!
